DGR AUDIT COMMITTEE CHAIR JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities and Procedures
- Attend Monthly DGR E-board meetings, Monthly Membership Meetings, and other special/emergency meetings, as may be necessary. Although the Audit Committee Chair is not a voting member of the DGR e-board, s/he is a voting member at the DGR Monthly Membership Meetings and other special DGR Membership Meetings. Input is always welcome at DGR e-board meetings.
- If there are Audit Committee Members (not required by the DGR Bylaws), conduct Audit Committee meetings as deemed necessary.
- As needed, work closely with the DGR Treasurer, DGR Assistant Treasurer, and the DGR Membership Committee Chair.

Complete quarterly audits of the DGR Finances.
- The report is to be provided in writing first to the DGR E-board and then to the DGR Members at the DGR Monthly Membership Meetings two months after the end of each quarter. (i.e.: The first quarter report of the year (Jan. - March) shall be due in writing by the May meeting; etc.)
- The Committee Chair shall meet with both the DGR Treasurer (or DGR Assistant Treasurer) and the DGR Membership Chair to review all the financial activities of that quarter to ensure that all DGR Financial records are current and appropriate. Verify that all bills paid were authorized by the current year's approved budget, that there was a motion approved for any expenditures not included in that year's budget, and that there is a receipt for each expenditure.

- Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, and spreadsheets
- Math skills
- Ability/willingness to coordinate with the DGR Treasurer

Best Practices
- Check email at least daily.
- Respond in a timely manner to telephone calls and emails related to DGR.
- Read and respond as needed to the DGR Officers Group Texting.
- Be familiar with DGR Bylaws.
