DGR EVENTS & FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE CHAIR JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities and Procedures

  1. Attend Monthly E-board meetings, Monthly Membership Meetings, and other emergency meetings as may be necessary.
  2. In fundraiser capacity, assists and leads the club in raising funds which may be used to promote candidates, the club’s development, and/or Democratic Party policy and initiatives.
  3. Identifies, plans, and organizes fundraising events.
  4. Coordinates financial activity with the DGR Treasurer and adheres to state and federal campaign finance laws.
  5. Effectively conveys the club’s mission and vision.
  6. Identifies events for club participation that further club and Democratic Party goals and initiatives.
  7. Takes the lead in planning events and/or assists others with event planning and development.
  8. Conduct Finance/Fundraising Committee meetings as deemed needed.
  9. Work closely with the DGR President, Vice President, Treasurer, and the DGR Political Action Committee Chair to plan needed fundraising events.
  10. Keep current on issues of interest to area Democrats and like-minded organizations, DGR E-board and/or DGR Members, as this may provide leads for fundraising activities.
  11. Research fundraising ideas and discuss at DGR E-board meetings.
  12. Upon agreement of fundraising ideas/plans by the DGR E-board, implement plans and proceed with the fundraising events. Ensure that any in-person events are held in an ADA venue and that all advertising/notices for said events are in ADA compliance.
  13. If needed, provide to the DGR E-board meeting any proposed amendments for the current year's budget. Upon consensus by the DGR E-board, provide those budget amendments to the next subsequent DGR Monthly Membership Meeting for acceptance.

  1. Check email at least daily.
  2. Respond in a timely manner to telephone calls and emails related to DGR.
  3. Read and respond as needed to the DGR Officers Group Texting.
  4. Be familiar with DGR Bylaws.
