DGR RULES/COMPLIANCE COMMITTEE CHAIR JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities and Procedures
- Attend DGR e-board meetings, Monthly Membership Meetings, and other emergency/special meetings as may be called.
- Maintain copies of all DGR Bylaws and bring them to DGR e-board meetings and Monthly Membership Meetings.
- Recognize when any DGR Bylaws are not being followed and note if they need to be followed forthwith or revised.

Meet with Rules/Compliance Committee Members as needed to provide any
recommendations to revisions to DGR Bylaws.
- Proposed revisions are first reported to the DGR e-board for discussion, possible edits, and agreement.
- At the next membership meeting following DGR e-board agreement, said proposals are provided in writing to all DGR members – in person at the meeting and/or via email.
- Prior to the vote at the following DGR Monthly Membership Meeting, ensure that all proposals have been sent to all current DGR members (in person and/or via email) not less than 7 days nor more than 30 days prior to the vote.

At the next subsequent DGR Monthly Membership Meeting, explain the
proposed language and rationale; lead discussion to adopt (or edit)
the proposed language; and ensure that a vote is taken regarding
the proposed language.
- Once any changes have been voted upon, ensure that the new, amended language is reflected in the new current DGR Bylaws.
- Convey this information to the DGR Communications Committee Chair (or designee) to ensure that all current DGR Bylaws are posted on the DGR website.
- Maintain copies of all relevant emails re: DGR Bylaws.
- Be able to provide, as needed, written reports regarding changes (or infractions) to the DGR Bylaws.
- Ensure that all DGR elected officers are provided a list of their duties and responsibilities, and that they are updated as needed.

Ensure that all DGR Officers and Committee Chairs are in compliance with
the DGR Bylaws.
- When any changes are made to the DGR Bylaws that specifically affect any DGR elected officer, ensure that they are provided the information in writing.
- In the event that a DGR elected officer is not complying with the DGR Bylaws, work with that individual to remedy that situation in a timely manner. Should that not be successful, this would then need to be brought before the DGR e-board for action as needed.
- Should any Compliance Review Complaint be filed, assist in resolving that matter within the structure of the DGR Bylaws.

Provide copies of required documents to any DGR members who are nominated
to fill an officer position on the Board:
- The DGR Bylaws applicable to that position.
- The current job description for that position. This must occur prior to the election of any DGR Officers or Committee Chairs.

Familiarity with current DGR Bylaws and willingness to continue learning
about changes as needed for DGR or as required by the RCDP.
- Maintain files including current and previous versions of the DGR Bylaws.
- Understand Parliamentary Procedure and maintain familiarity with the current edition of Robert's Rules of Order.
- Provide information in meetings as needed to ensure that Parliamentary Procedure and DGR's Bylaws are being followed.
- Familiarity with the Riverside County Democratic Party's Bylaws, Rules, Procedures, etc.

- Check email at least daily.
- Read and respond as needed to DGR Officers Group Texting.
- Respond in a timely manner to telephone calls and emails related to DGR.
- Be knowledgeable of DGR Bylaws.
