June DGR Meeting: Special Guest: Jose Medina

Our next Democrats of Greater Riverside meeting is shaping up to be an important one—and we hope to see you there. Next Wednesday at 7PM!  Details below.

We’re honored to welcome Supervisor Jose Medina as our guest speaker. He’ll be diving into a topic that’s long overdue for public attention: Sheriff accountability in Riverside County.

With rising concerns about unchecked power, civil rights violations, and political extremism within the Sheriff’s Department, this conversation couldn’t come at a more urgent time. Supervisor Medina will walk us through:

  • Why real oversight of the Sheriff’s Office is essential

  • The consequences of inaction on public safety and trust

  • What the Board of Supervisors can do—and where public pressure matters most

  • How we organize and demand transparency and reform

Plus: We’ll be joined by the Chris Shoults for Assembly campaign, who will brief us on the final six days before the crucial AD-63 special election on June 24.

This is a must-win race—and they’ll share how DGR members can help push it over the finish line with canvassing, phone banking, sign-waving, and more.

👋 Side note: We’re also pleased to introduce a formal nomination for DGR’s new Secretary.

Come for the accountability. Stay for the action.

Let’s do the work, together.
